The recent match against Memphis Grizzlies marked the American basketball superstar’s 1,500th appearance in the NBA regular season.
On the evening of November 6 (local time), the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Memphis Grizzlies at the Grizzlies’ home court, marking a memorable milestone for NBA legend and 22-year veteran LeBron James.
“The King” (as LeBron James is nicknamed) has had one of the most illustrious careers in NBA history. He is a four-time NBA champion, with titles with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, James has also won the NBA MVP award four times (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013) and is a 20-time All-Star.
The recent game against the Grizzlies marked the American superstar’s 1,500th regular-season NBA appearance, a number only five other players in history have achieved. That group includes legends such as John Stockton (1,504), Dirk Nowitzki (1,522), Vince Carter (1,541), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,560), and Robert Parrish (1,611).
However, LeBron James did not enjoy the joy of victory today when the Los Angeles Lakers lost 114-131 to the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored a total of 39 points, 6 assists and 7 rebounds.
The Lakers only made 15 of their 48 three-point shots, with James making the best of them with 6/11. The purple and gold team’s shooting efficiency was 44.1% (41/93).
The trio of Austin Reaves (19 points, 5 assists), D’Angelo Russell (12 points, 3 assists) and rookie Dalton Knecht (three points) only made 5 successful shots in 25 attempts from the three-point line.
Missed shots, especially early in the game, created quick counter-attack opportunities for the Grizzlies, helping them establish an early advantage.
The Memphis Grizzlies were led by star Ja Morant, who scored 20 points and 5 assists. The No. 12 guard had to leave the court early in the third quarter after suffering an injury. The Grizzlies announced that his chance of returning to the game was low due to a problem with his right hamstring.
The Lakers will return home to face the Philadelphia 76ers on the evening of November 8 at Crypto.com Arena.
