The Los Angeles Lakers are showing impressive form as they recorded their third consecutive win in the 2024/2025 NBA season.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored a combined 63 points, including 30 in the fourth quarter, to help the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings 131-127. This was the third consecutive victory for the Los Angeles team this season.
The Lakers led by as much as 15 points and finished the first half 64-60 at the Crypto.com Arena in L.A. The Kings, however, fought back and took a 94-87 lead into the final quarter, but the Lakers then went on a 21-0 run, with LeBron James scoring 16 points.
Davis, who finished with 31 points, became the first Lakers player since Kobe Bryant in 2005-06 to score at least 30 points in three consecutive games to open a season. LeBron, meanwhile, scored 32 points, had 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
For the Kings, Domantas Sabonis scored 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, while De’Aaron Fox contributed 28 points and 10 assists.
Kevin Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to surpass 29,000 points as he led the Phoenix Suns to a 114-102 home win over the Dallas Mavericks. The 14-time All-Star, now in his 17th season, scored 31 points, raising his career total to 29,010. LeBron James, who leads the all-time scoring list with 40,543 points, is the only active player to reach 29,000.
The defending NBA champions Boston Celtics staged a late comeback to win 124-118 over the Detroit Pistons. The Celtics came back from 106-112 down with more than five minutes remaining, with Jayson Tatum scoring 37 points and Jaylen Brown adding 24.
